Locations where it was filmed
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 was filmed entirely in Greece, with locations in Athens and on the island of Corfu.
Athens Airport was transformed to resemble Chicago's O'Hare airport, and the historic neighbourhood of Plaka, known for its neoclassical architecture, was used for several scenes. A house in a wealthy suburb of Athens was used as the interior of the Portokalos family home. The cast and crew also filmed in the Parthenon and Syntagma, and the beach the family swims at is Rafina beach, next to Athens' Rafina port. The 'party scene' was filmed at Bolivar beach bar.
The Island of Corfu was the second primary location, with the cast filming there for almost a month. The village of Varipatades, at the top of a mountain, was used for many scenes, as was the village of Danilia, which was built in the 1970s to promote Corfiot traditions and culture. The village of Varypatades was used for drone shots and scenes of Toula and Ian looking at a view from a balcony. The winding road to Sokraki village was also used for filming.
Other filming locations in Corfu included a beach near Benitses and Angsana resort, where scenes of Ian meeting a monk were filmed, and Theotoky Estate, which was used for vineyard scenes. The Olive Oil (Press) Museum of The Governor’s Mill in south Corfu was used for scenes involving olive oil production and Gus' favourite hangout as a child.
