Mark Wright's reaction to Fool Me Once
Mark Wright has been extremely supportive of his wife Michelle Keegan's performance in the Netflix thriller series *Fool Me Once*. He has publicly praised her acting in the show, admitting that he ""broke down in tears" of pride after watching it.
On his radio show, *Mark Wright on Saturdays*, Wright gushed about Keegan's performance as leading character Maya Burkett/Stern, whose husband, Joe, has been brutally murdered. He said:
> "I can't tell you how many people have texted me about *Fool Me Once*... my wife's new Netflix show if you haven't seen it, I'm not being biased. It really is incredible. Everybody in the world seems to be watching my wife on Netflix at the moment. Absolutely incredible."
Wright also admitted that it didn't feel "weird" watching his wife on screen, and that he was able to separate the fictional character from the person sitting next to him. He continued:
> "I turned to my left to tell my wife how much I loved it and how proud I was and yeah, I broke down I got a lump in my throat I did cry like a little bit of soppy, but I think it was just that moment of watching my wife on the screen... It's such a surreal feeling when you're sat next to your partner who's the star of the show. And you completely forget that it's your wife and she is just sat right there because she was so good in that character."
Wright also took to Instagram to share his pride in Keegan's performance, writing:
> "I can't tell you how happy and proud I am for this incredible woman I call my wife... Watching her nerves leaving the soap that made her over a decade ago, trying so hard to be taken seriously as an actor, moving into big serious dramas as her career has moved forward has been such an important thing to her... This is your time babe, this is what it's all been for, keep shining girl, your biggest fan is right here behind you, all the way!"
