Big Mom's Wedding: The Anticipated Celebration

The Whole Cake Island Arc, also referred to as the Totto Land Arc, is the twenty-ninth story arc of the manga and anime One Piece. The arc centres around the wedding between Sanji and Charlotte Pudding, which is set up to finalise a political alliance between the Charlotte Family and the Vinsmoke Family. The wedding takes place at 10:00 AM, at the top of the Whole Cake Chateau.

Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom, is famous for holding lavish tea parties. These tea parties are held with large amounts of extravagant confections and pastries for all the guests to enjoy. Big Mom loves to eat sweets above anything else, and she would always look forward to these parties with tremendous enthusiasm.

Big Mom's husbands

Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom, has had 43 husbands and 85 children (39 daughters and 46 sons). She kidnaps and marries her husbands solely for procreation and to have a diverse family. She allows them to stay with her during her pregnancies, but after giving birth, she casts them out, claiming she has no further use for them. She even allows her children to kill them.

Big Mom's first husband was the father of her first child, Perospero. Her 25th husband was Pound, the father of Chiffon and Lola. Capone Bege, married to Chiffon, is one of her former husbands.

The Whole Cake Chateau

The Vinsmoke Family

The Vinsmoke patriarch, Vinsmoke Judge, is a former member of MADS, a renowned scientific group. He genetically modified his children to create an elite military force, stripping them of their emotions. However, his experiment failed with his third son, Sanji, who retained his emotions and was disowned by the family. Sanji later joined the Straw Hat Pirates.

The Vinsmokes possess advanced combat technology, including Raid Suits, which allow them to hover, jump large distances, and boost their kicking power. They have also developed cloning technology, creating a virtually inexhaustible army of programmed clones, willing to sacrifice themselves for their sovereigns.

The assassination plot

At a tea party held by Big Mom a year prior, someone had accidentally nudged the portrait of Mother Carmel, causing Big Mom to let out a loud, Haki-infused scream that left her vulnerable. This incident gave Bege the idea for his assassination plot.

Bege earned a high rank in Big Mom's crew and was put in charge of security for the tea party, where Sanji, the 3rd son of the Vinsmoke Family, would be marrying Big Mom's 35th daughter, Charlotte Pudding, in a political wedding. This position gave Bege a larger opening to strike against Big Mom.

After Luffy and a group of his crew arrived at Whole Cake Island to rescue Sanji, they were informed of Bege's plan by Jinbe, another of Big Mom's subordinates who intended to defect to the Straw Hat crew. Jinbe suggested that they ally with Bege for the assassination attempt to increase their chances of rescuing Sanji's family. To provide the lethal weapons that could potentially kill Big Mom, Bege recruited Caesar Clown, who was being held captive.

The plan was to destroy the portrait of Mother Carmel, causing Big Mom to let out a loud scream that would debilitate the rest of the Big Mom Pirates and guests, rendering them unable to interfere in the assassination. Bege and his crew would be wearing earplugs to block out the sound of the scream. After rendering Big Mom vulnerable, they would attack her with lethal force.

However, the plan ultimately failed when the pressure of Big Mom's screams caused the rockets launched at her to explode prematurely before they could reach her.
