Prince Harry has had one wedding. He married Meghan Markle on the 19th of May 2018 at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The ceremony was attended by 600 guests, including A-listers such as George and Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, and Priyanka Chopra. Markle chose Waight Keller because she wanted to highlight the success of a leading British designer and because of her "elegant aesthetic" and "relaxed demeanour". Markle and Waight Keller worked closely together on the design, which included eight fittings.

The veil was 16 feet (4.9m) long and was hand-embroidered with a variety of flowers on its hem, including crops of wheat, which symbolise love and charity. The veil also featured flowers representing the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, the wintersweet, which grows outside Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, and the California poppy, the state flower of California, where Markle was born.

Markle's "something blue" was also stitched into her veil—a piece of blue fabric from the dress she wore on her first date with Prince Harry.

Reception Dress

For the evening reception, Markle changed into a custom halter gown with an open back by Stella McCartney. The dress was made of silk crepe and featured a small train. Markle wore 18-karat white gold Cartier drop earrings and an aquamarine cocktail ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

The wedding cake

Ptak's focus on organic ingredients resonated with the couple, who shared her values of "food provenance, sustainability, seasonality, and... flavour". In a statement released by Kensington Palace, Ptak said:

> "I can't tell you how delighted I am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle's wedding cake... Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality, and most importantly flavour, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of."

Ptak and her team used the kitchens at Buckingham Palace to bake the cake, which was displayed on three royal stands: two single-tiered cakes and one two-tiered cake. The cake was covered in Swiss meringue buttercream and adorned with 150 fresh flowers, including three types of peonies and roses.

The cake was a break from tradition, as royal wedding cakes are typically fruit cakes. The choice of a lemon and elderflower cake was inspired by the couple's spring wedding date, and the inclusion of elderflower cordial from the Queen's Sandringham estate was a nod to royal heritage.

The cake took five days to bake and ice, and it cost around $70,000. Each slice was estimated to cost about $100.
