'Marry Me'
Jennifer Lopez has played a bride in eight movies so far, with two of them being 'Marry Me' and 'Shotgun Wedding', released close to each other. In 'Marry Me', Lopez's character, superstar Kat Valdez, has had three failed marriages. On the day of her fourth wedding, she discovers that her fiancé Bastian is cheating on her. Distressed, she impulsively decides to marry Charlie, a divorced math teacher, who is in the crowd holding a "Marry Me" sign. The movie is based on the 2012 graphic novel of the same title by Bobby Crosby.
Lopez expressed her thoughts on doing two wedding movies back-to-back, saying:
> "I had just finished Marry Me when this script came in. And I was like, 'Do I want to do two wedding movies in a row like that?' But it was so funny, and I thought to myself, 'With the right director and the right people, this could be something really fun and special.' And I had never done an action/comedy, a romantic action comedy. I've done a lot of romantic comedies but not action. So that was a new kind of adventure for me as well."

'Selena'
Jennifer Lopez has played a bride in eight movies so far, with one source listing nine appearances. The first time Lopez played a bride was in the 1997 biographical drama film 'Selena'. The film chronicles the rise to fame and tragic death of Tejano music star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez at the age of 23. In the film, Lopez portrays Quintanilla-Pérez as a dutiful daughter who rises from an obscure child star to a Grammy-winning singer. While there is no wedding scene in the movie, Selena elopes with her future husband, Chris Perez, as her father does not approve of their relationship.
Lopez's performance in 'Selena' received positive reviews from critics. Leonard Maltin gave the film two and a half stars out of four, praising Lopez's portrayal of Selena. Roger Ebert gave the film three and a half stars out of four, impressed by Lopez's acting. For her performance, Lopez received a Best Actress nomination at the 55th Golden Globe Awards.

'The Wedding Planner'
Jennifer Lopez has played a bride in eight movies so far, including The Wedding Planner. The Wedding Planner, released in 2001, is about a woman called Mary, played by Lopez, who is an ambitious wedding planner. Mary meets an old high school enemy, Massimo, through her father, who wants her to marry him. However, she declines as she wants to pursue a partnership in her company. She then faces the challenging task of planning the wedding of heiress Fran Donolly to her boyfriend, Eddie, played by Matthew McConaughey.
The film was shot in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, with the first wedding ceremony filmed inside the chapel at Stanford University. The movie grossed $13.5 million from 2,785 theatres on its opening weekend in the United States and Canada, debuting at the top of the box office. Despite this, it received generally negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 17% approval rating, with critics describing it as "heavy-handed and contrived".
The New York Times' O. Scott acknowledged the undeniable charisma of Lopez and McConaughey, which made the film "more painless than it has a right to be". Variety's Robert Koehler called it "an attractive bridesmaid but hardly a gorgeous bride among romantic comedies". BBC's Michael Thomson commented on the lack of chemistry between the two leads, noting that "after the two leads become less wired in each other's presence, and the sexual tension begins to droop, everyone seems to be reading an autocue". Lopez was even nominated for Worst Actress at the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards for her role in the film.

'Enough'
Jennifer Lopez has played a bride in eight movies so far, with a ninth movie featuring two weddings for her character. One of these wedding movies is Enough, a 2002 American psychological thriller film directed by Michael Apted and starring Lopez as Slim, an abused wife who learns to fight back. The film is based on the New York Times bestselling 1998 novel Black and Blue by Anna Quindlen.
In Enough, Slim is a working-class waitress who meets and marries wealthy contractor Mitch (Billy Campbell). After the birth of their first child, Mitch's abusive behaviour is revealed, and Slim is forced to go on the run with their daughter to escape his violent attacks. The film explores the serious issue of spousal abuse and has received largely negative reviews from critics, who deemed the portrayal of domestic violence stereotypical and the film excessively focused on melodramatic action and female empowerment over characterization. However, Lopez's performance was praised, and the film has been viewed more positively in retrospect, with some calling it "an underrated thriller".
Lopez herself shared that she overworked during the filming of Enough, experiencing a nervous breakdown due to a lack of sleep. Despite the challenging production, Enough grossed $51.8 million worldwide and ranked No. 5 on the American Box Office chart during its opening week.
Enough is just one of the many wedding-themed films in Lopez's extensive filmography, with other titles including Selena, The Wedding Planner, El Cantante, The Back-Up Plan, Marry Me, My Family, Shotgun Wedding, and The Cell.
