Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) chose a Mexican beach resort for their honeymoon, called Posadita Bonita. However, it was not just the newlyweds who chose this location; they coincidentally meet their colleague, Holt (Andre Braugher), who was also staying at the same resort.
Holt had taken some time off work after losing the Commissioner title to John Kelly, who was pushing for a "vigilant policing" initiative. Holt's presence began to put a dampener on Jake and Amy's honeymoon, as he engaged in depressing monologues and self-wallowed around the couple as they tried to relax and enjoy their time together. Amy, ever the problem-solver, suggested that they invite Holt to join their honeymoon activities, which seemed to work, and he began to cheer up. However, Jake soon discovered that Holt was planning to quit his job at the NYPD, convinced that there was more to life than his career. This prompted Jake and Amy to lock Holt in their hotel room to prevent him from leaving.
Unbeknownst to Amy, Holt was still in the room when she came out dressed as Holly Gennaro McClane from Die Hard, as part of a sexual roleplay scenario. The couple eventually tied Holt to the bed to prevent his escape and tried to talk him out of quitting the NYPD. Holt, angry and miserable, called Jake selfish, which did not go down well with Amy. Eventually, Holt escaped, apologised, and offered to extend and compensate Jake and Amy for their honeymoon. The couple then continued their sexual roleplay, before deciding to abandon the characters and just take their clothes off.
The episode was filmed at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach, California, with exterior shots of the Sheraton Kauai, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, being used as the outside image of the resort.
