Doug's groomsmen
Doug Harris, a successful tax attorney, is set to marry his dream girl, Gretchen Palmer. However, Doug has a problem: he has no friends to fill the seven groomsmen spots for his wedding, and none of his current or former acquaintances feel comfortable enough to be his best man. Desperate for a solution, Doug contacts Jimmy Callahan, owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides best men and groomsmen for socially challenged guys in need.
However, Doug's ruse is almost exposed when he gets nervous and almost blows his cover. During a football game with Gretchen's father, Ed, and his college teammates, Jimmy accidentally sets Gretchen's grandmother on fire. In the emergency room, Jimmy lies about playing football with Ed, leading to a match that ends with Ed injuring his knee. Despite their efforts, Gretchen eventually discovers the truth when she recognises the last names of the groomsmen and deduces the scheme.
Despite the exposure, Doug and Jimmy's friendship remains intact, and they even go on a guys' trip together, using Doug's first-class honeymoon tickets to Tahiti.
