Lopez's Wedding: Rookie's Big Day

In the season 3 finale of ABC's The Rookie, Angela Lopez is kidnapped on her wedding day by drug queenpin Sandra La Fiera De La Cruz. Lopez's colleague Jackson West is also kidnapped, and later killed, during the abduction. Lopez is held hostage by La Fiera, who plans to take Lopez's baby once it's born and kill her. However, Lopez is eventually rescued by her colleagues, and she gives birth to a baby boy, who she names after West.

Lopez is kidnapped by La Fiera

In the third season of "The Rookie", Lopez is kidnapped by La Fiera, a Guatemalan drug cartel leader, on her wedding day. La Fiera had been arrested and was being transported by the police when her prison transport was intercepted and she was set free.

Lopez, a detective in the LAPD, had been working on the La Fiera case and had even visited her in her cell before the wedding, blaming her for her son's death. This enraged La Fiera, who orchestrated her escape and subsequently ordered Lopez's kidnapping. Lopez is abducted from her dressing room and held hostage, with La Fiera planning to take her baby once it is born and kill her.

Lopez's colleagues and husband-to-be, Wesley Evers, formulate a plan to rescue her. They split into two groups, with some staying in Los Angeles to find the killer of Lopez's former rookie, Jackson West, who was also abducted during the wedding and subsequently murdered. The rest of the team, including Wesley, travel to Guatemala, where La Fiera has taken Lopez to her compound.

Wesley manages to get inside the compound by using the guise of wanting to negotiate with La Fiera, and he and Lopez pretend that she is in labour to attempt an escape. Although they are separated and taken to different locations, Lopez is rescued by her colleagues. In the escape, Lopez is shot in the leg by La Fiera, but she is able to return fire and kill La Fiera. The team then escapes by helicopter back to Los Angeles.

Three months later, Lopez has given birth to a baby boy, who she names Jackson in honour of her deceased rookie.

Jackson West is killed

Back at the Mid-Wilshire Station, the team mourns Jackson's death and discusses their next moves. They are also determined to locate Lopez and save her life and that of her unborn child. The team includes Officer Nolan, Tim Bradford, Lucy Chen, and Nyla Harper. They suit up as a breach team to rescue Lopez, but she has already been moved to a different location.

The team discovers a tripwire connected to the discarded car and evidence of a getaway plane. They learn that La Fiera, the drug queenpin, is flying to Guatemala with Lopez, intending to keep the officer's baby for herself.

The team grapples with the situation, and Chen and Bradford share an emotional hug as they prepare to sleep. Chen is going to stay at Bradford's place, and they are offered a lead on Lopez's whereabouts.

The team works to rescue Lopez, and they eventually locate her in a compound in Guatemala. They formulate a plan to rescue her, which involves inducing her labour so that La Fiera will take her to the hospital. This plan is successful, and a shootout ensues at the hospital. La Fiera is killed by Lopez during their escape, and the team escapes in a helicopter.

Three months later, Lopez and her husband Wesley Evers return home with their baby. The final scene shows Lopez visiting Jackson's grave, introducing her newborn son, named Jackson in his memory.

La Fiera wants Lopez's baby

La Fiera's plan is to keep Lopez captive until she gives birth and then take the baby for herself, killing Lopez afterward. However, Lopez's colleagues at the LAPD launch a rescue mission and are able to locate her with the help of Lopez's husband-to-be, Wesley Evers, and a criminal informant. They eventually track La Fiera and Lopez to Guatemala, where a shootout ensues. Lopez is rescued, and she kills La Fiera with a gunshot during their escape.

Three months later, Lopez gives birth to a baby boy, whom she names Jackson after her former rookie, Jackson West, who was fatally shot during La Fiera's kidnapping attempt. Lopez visits Jackson's grave and expresses her wish for him to be alive to see her son.

Nolan, Harper, and Bradford go to Guatemala to find Lopez

After Lopez is kidnapped on her wedding day, her husband-to-be, Wesley Evers, seeks help from Sergeant Wade Grey and Officer Nolan. They visit the DEA for support on the ground in Guatemala, but the law enforcement group does little to help.

Nolan, Harper, and Bradford get in touch with a contact named Max, who helps them get to Guatemala. Once they arrive, Nolan travels to an architect's office and manages to swipe blueprints to La Fiera's compound by posing as an architect and pretending to go to the bathroom. He pulls a fire alarm to get some time alone to search for the plans.

Meanwhile, Bradford and Harper put together tech to do reconnaissance on the spot. They determine that their original strategy won't work and decide to go with "Plan B," which involves inducing Lopez's labour so that La Fiera will take her to the hospital, where they can meet up with her and get her away from La Fiera's gang.

Nolan, Harper, and Bradford land in Guatemala in a borrowed black ops helicopter, while Wesley takes a conventional flight to arrive at the same time.

La Fiera is killed by Lopez

Lopez is taken to a hospital, where she is rescued by fellow officers Tim Bradford and Nyla Harper. La Fiera is the last of Lopez's captors in pursuit of them, and Lopez kills her after she is shot in the leg by La Fiera, allowing the trio to escape in a helicopter.

Lopez, who is pregnant, is abducted by La Fiera during her wedding to Wesley Evers. La Fiera plans to wait for Lopez to give birth, kill her, and then raise the baby as her own. This is because Lopez's unborn child is fathered by Wesley, who is La Fiera's enemy. La Fiera's son, Diego, was killed, and she blames Lopez for his death.
