Geralt's Wedding Speech: To Make Or Not To Make?

In the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Geralt can make a speech at a wedding during the 'Dead Man's Party' quest. This is a main quest in the Hearts of Stone expansion. The quest involves Geralt being possessed by Vlodimir von Everec's ghost, who is the brother of Olgierd von Everec. Olgierd asks Geralt to show his brother a good time, which proves challenging as Vlodimir has been dead for a few years. Geralt's body is controlled by Vlodimir's ghost, and the two attend a wedding together, where they participate in various activities. At the end of the wedding, Geralt can choose to make a speech.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honour to be here today to celebrate the union of Aldona and Johnnus. I would like to thank Shani for inviting me to this joyous occasion. I would also like to thank her for her help in fulfilling a certain contract of mine. It was no easy task, but with her assistance, I was able to succeed.

I must admit, when I first arrived at the von Everec family crypt, I did not expect to find myself possessed by a ghost. But that is indeed what happened. Vlodimir von Everec, the brother of my employer, Olgierd, took control of my body and, I must say, caused quite a stir at this wedding. He even managed to offend the groom a few times! But despite his mischievous behaviour, we had a wonderful time.

I would like to thank Aldona and Johnnus for their hospitality and for allowing us to take part in the wedding activities. We herded pigs, played Gwent, and even danced in the barn. It was certainly a night to remember, and I am glad that Vlodimir was able to enjoy himself. He even wrote a letter to his brother, expressing his gratitude.

I wish the happy couple all the best in their new life together. May their love continue to grow and flourish. And to all the guests here today, thank you for your company and cheers to a wonderful evening!

Geralt's relationship with Shani

Geralt and Shani's relationship is a complex one, filled with love and sadness. In Witcher 1, Shani offers Geralt the chance of a "normal" life, as a husband and father to Alvin. Geralt is attracted to the prospect of a simple life, as Shani is a medic who simply lives to help those who are sick. However, by Witcher 2, their relationship has ended as Geralt is unable to let go of his Witcher way of life, and Shani cannot live that way.

In Witcher 3, Geralt and Shani briefly rekindle their romance, but both know that their love cannot lead to a life together. They part ways, knowing that their romance can only bring them sadness. Despite their deep love for each other, their lives are incompatible. Shani is a mortal who will age normally, while Geralt, as a Witcher, ages very slowly and cannot have children.

In the Hearts of Stone expansion, Geralt and Shani's relationship is explored further. Shani assists Geralt in his quest to fulfil Olgierd von Everec's wish to show his brother, Vlodimir, a good time. Shani and Geralt travel to the von Everec family crypt, where Geralt performs a ritual to summon Vlodimir's ghost. Vlodimir possesses Geralt's body and attends a wedding with Shani, flirting with her throughout the festivities. Despite Vlodimir's promise to keep his hands off Shani, his manner leaves room for doubt. Ultimately, Vlodimir is forced back to the netherworld by Master Mirror, bringing an end to the festivities.

Geralt's outfit for the wedding

For Geralt's wedding outfit, he is equipped with a master-quality ornate robe, ornate boots, and basic game starting equipment hunting trousers. This is the same outfit that Vlodimir fashions to wear to the wedding with Shani during the main quest "Dead Man's Party".

The ornate robe is a light armour robe introduced in the Hearts of Stone expansion. It matches Geralt's level when received, but the maximum level is 35 + the starting level in New Game +. It provides +20% resistance to piercing and slashing damage, with 30 armour at level 1 and an additional 5 armour per level. The materials required to craft it are:

• 1-5 x Linen
• 1-3 x Leather straps
• 1-3 x Iron ore
• 1-4 x Thread

The ornate boots are also part of the Hearts of Stone expansion. They are described as "stylish new garb".

Geralt's dance with Shani

Geralt and Shani's dance is part of the "Dead Man's Party" quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Hearts of Stone expansion. Geralt and Shani attend the wedding of one of Shani's dear friends. Shani is a very particular woman with specific likes and dislikes, so the player must play their cards right during the events of the evening if they hope to acquire this romance.

After several activities, Shani and Geralt will dance, and Geralt will place a kiss on her lips. She doesn't appreciate his forwardness, so the player must choose the option that says he couldn't resist since this leads to an apology and agreement that won't leave her avoiding him later.

After the dance, Geralt and Shani have a brief conversation, which is interrupted by Master Mirror. After the second dance, Geralt and Shani speak to O'Dimm in the back room, where he is discussing the finer points of baking gingerbread with some older ladies.

Geralt's interactions with the guests

One of the mandatory activities is pig herding, where Geralt has to chase two pigs into a pen. Using his Axii powers to do this is considered cheating and will result in no prize. Another task is to help the fire swallower, who has been chased away by a dog. Geralt can choose to calm the dog or chase it away, and then convince the fire swallower to return to the wedding.

There is also a strange game near the pond, where Shani throws her shoe into the water and Geralt has to find it. There are other shoes in the pond, but retrieving Shani's shoe first try earns more experience points.

Geralt also plays Gwent with some dwarven guests. If he loses, he has to wear a set of ass's ears for the rest of the night, which influences dialogue with other characters.

During the wedding, Geralt can choose to make a speech, which leads to some amusing antics and backhanded but complementary gestures from Vlodimir.
