Choosing a privacy setting
When creating an Amazon wedding registry, you can choose from three privacy settings: private, shareable with a link, or public. You can change your privacy settings at any time by going to the Settings option at the top of your registry page and scrolling down to the privacy options.
If you choose to keep your registry private, only you and your co-registrant will be able to see it. This setting ensures that your registry remains hidden from everyone except those you invite to view it.
Selecting the "Shareable with a link" option allows you to share your registry with only those you choose. You can copy the link and share it via email, text, or even on your wedding invitations. This setting is ideal if you want to control who has access to your registry without making it completely private.
The "Public" setting means anyone can search for and view your registry on Amazon. This option simplifies the process for your guests, as they can easily find and access your registry without needing a link. Additionally, if you choose to make your registry searchable via TheKnot.com, your guests can also find it through that website.
You can also choose to make your registry searchable by name, city, state, and event date through Amazon's public registry search feature. This option allows guests who may not have the link or know your exact registry details to locate your registry and purchase gifts.
Remember, regardless of the privacy setting you choose, you can always change it later. So, if you start with a private registry and later decide to make it public, or vice versa, you have the flexibility to do so.

Sharing your registry
When creating an Amazon wedding registry, you can choose from three privacy settings: private, shareable with a link, or public. You can change your privacy settings at any time by going to Settings on your registry page or by selecting "Your registry" from the menu at the top of your wedding registry page.
If you choose to keep your registry private, only you and your co-registrant will be able to see it. If you select the "Shareable with a link" option, you can share your registry with only those you choose. You can copy the link and share it via email, text, or on your shower invitations. You can also change the link if you wish, for example, to include your and your partner's names.
To share your registry, go to your Wedding Registry and select the share icon in the upper right corner. From there, select how you would like to share it. If your registry is public, guests can simply search for it on Amazon.
You can also add your Amazon wedding registry to a universal wedding registry website like Joy, which allows you to combine multiple registries into one central place for guests to shop. To do this, go to "Manage" under Registry on the admin dashboard, scroll down, and click "Connect a Registry" on the left side panel. Then, add the registry URL and click "Get Started".

Adding an external registry to Joy
To add an external registry to your Joy wedding website, follow these steps:
- Go to "Manage" under "Registry" on the admin dashboard.
- Scroll down and, on the left side panel, click "Connect a Registry".
- Add the external registry URL and click "Get Started".
- If the external registry is transferable or sync-able and supports displaying products, items may take up to 5 minutes to appear. If not, select the "Other" option and enter the shareable URL for the external registry.
- Click "Connect Registry".
If you choose to transfer your external registry to Joy, you can manage future changes and access all gift-giver details within the Joy platform. Alternatively, syncing allows you to make updates on your external registry while still being able to view gift-giver information there. Note that registries that are eligible for both syncing and transferring will initially default to transferring. If you wish to sync instead, avoid choosing the "Move Registry to Joy" option and instead opt for the "No thanks, I'd like to continue adding gifts through..." option, which will lead you to the syncing choice.
